So we've decided we should prolly save a bit of money here and there when we can. So we're getting rid of our Dreamhost dependency. hob-clan and the porn site, and the hobchan, and the tf2 stats... databases and http pages will be migrated over sometime within the next few days.

but like I said, I don't really have a definite time just yet. I'll try to get an update on the forms 24 hours before, but if you get here and shit's closed - don't be a QQ'in. it'll be back sure enough.

Other than a few website issues, and possibly forum related (sql) things - you shouldn't notice much. The servers themselves will be untouched as they've always ran under the hob-games.com domain DNS - you will not need to update your game favorites. Or any url's for that matter - all dns entries will be forwarded to our IP's.

I hope this will speed things up a little bit in the end, and definitely save us some $$ a year at a time. Thanks for you patience!

YES, i'm serious. And thank fucking god. Like many of you, i'm constatnly plagued by my windows install. Drivers that won't work for 64 bit platforms, shitty multi-threading and those god-awful licensing fee's. I've recently installed Gentoo Linux back onto my desktop and I'm loving it!
I do have wine working for linux, TF2 and L4D2 are playable, but the framerate is teh suck so far. That's prolly my only gripe about using LINUX as my main OS - and the only reason I even have a windows partition.

YAYYYYYYY! it's about fucking time! With the release of OS X's recent client release, I can only imagine the linux release isn't too far behind! SO EXCITING!

so I just thought I'd put up a post, and keep it updated as to what members get, and what donators get. Just so everyone knows.

you can check to see what (if any) commands you have access to by opening up console, and typing in sm_admin

and obviously this is subject to change (will bump thread if changed)
consistent donations may or may not get you on the the mini-admin list (just gives you a bit more control over server settings) and given access to the web-based admin panel (start/stop/update/restart servers with a click)

And please remember, just because you donated once doesn't mean you'll always have donation perks. This clan is kept alive by consistent donations - our servers are NOT free.

I got bored, and now we have a ranking system ... again
bit this one's free, and runs entirely on our shit.

here's your list of in-game commands

"rank" to display your rank to the server.
"top10" to view the top 10 ranked players.
"players" to view a list of ingame players.
"webrank" to get your webrank
"webtop" to get the webtop
"session" to get information about your session
"hidepoints" to hide the points you get
"unhidepoints" to show the points you get

if you find that any of these features aren't working correctly, please let me know. I've already sunk quite a few hours of tweaking to get it working as it is - so it shouldn't take me much to figure something simple as a broken link out.

but it's recommended. There were a few client updates. Updated CELT codec, more buttons, and admins can get a lot more information out of their users.

but really, you don't need to download the new 1.2.2 version if you don't want to. Any 1.x client should be able to conenct to the server without any issues (unless it's the alpha build. that thing doesn't work with anything). Unless you hear people sounding like robots or something strange with the codec - I would update if you get that problem.

I've finally gotten around to make a formal introduction!

I have been lurking in the background since the birth of House of Brews and finally decided to make myself a bit more public!

Mkay, here's the problem. I am trying to connect my HD Projector to my computer. Projector has an HDMI input, computer uses DVI. I found a cable that is HDMI on one end and DVI on the other. Problem is it's 2 feet short (Length of cable is 16 feet, need 18'). So... Can I connect another DVI cable to the end of that one (If all the sexes are correct)? I have no idea if that will work or not, and I don't want to get expensive, shits already costing me. The sell 20'+ HDMI cables and adapters to DVI, but they cost a couple hundred bucks. Fuck that. Halpz...

can I connect another 6 foot DVI cable to a 16' DVI cable and it still work?
